Adventure Tour
Most adventure days here are half days. You raft or hike in the morning, then your driver-guide takes you on, which is why these routes cover as much ground as the gentler ones.
Nothing needs previous experience. Rafting at Kitulgala is graded for beginners, the cycling routes stay off the main roads, and the classic hikes are walks rather than climbs.
Rafting at Kitulgala, walks to Ella Rock and Little Adam's Peak, and the early climb up Adam's Peak in season.
Weligama and the south coast from November to April, Arugam Bay on the east from May to September.
Village lanes, tank bunds and tea estate tracks, with the vehicle following for the stretches you would rather not ride.

Every route here is a starting point. Tell us what to change and we redraw it around your dates.

Full FAQFor most of these days, reasonably. Rafting at Kitulgala and the walks around Ella suit anyone comfortable on their feet. Adam's Peak is a long stair climb through the night and is the one that needs preparation.
The rafting runs best with water in the river, which is strongest from about May to December. Surf and hiking depend on which coast you are on, so tell us your dates and we will point the route at the right side of the island.
That is how most of these trips are built. A rafting morning, a safari, a few days of surf and a temple or two fit in the same two weeks.
