It won’t be remiss if I let you know that this is Bundala National Park; it is a Ramsar site that is internationally recognized as the convention on wetlands.
What can be summed up as a great and interesting wildlife trip when planning for a safari in Bundala! Watch the famous greater flamingo that comes to this place in search of winter pastures and may at times gather in a group of upto 2000 birds. And this is not all – owing to its mouth deposit plain with extensive water, dunes and lagoons Bundala turns into bird watching site where over 300 species of birds are found.
Oh yes, and of course let’s not neglect the other members of the other inhabitants of this sugar-coated, fertile community too! In addition to the timid Asian Elephant, there exists a host of fish, birds as well as other types of reptiles, which make Bundala the perfect holiday destination for those who love nature and great photographs.
